Privacy Policy
Remindly holds sensitive information — medication routines, appointments, and who is caring for whom. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: September 6, 2026.
Who we are
Remindly is operated by Anakhsoft ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about your information, write to hello@remindly.care and a real person will answer.
What we collect
We only collect what the service needs to work:
- Your account. Your email address, and optionally a name, nickname, and time zone, along with your role (whether you receive reminders, care for someone who does, or both) and your notification preferences. Remindly has no passwords — you sign in through a one-time link we email you.
- The link a device uses. A caregiver can create a web address that lets one device — a tablet or computer — show and speak your reminders without signing in. Anyone who has that address can see those reminders and mark them done, so it is worth treating like a key. It does not expire, and a caregiver can stop it at any time, which takes effect within seconds.
- An account somebody else created for you. A caregiver can set up Remindly for the person they care for, so that person does not need an email address or a password. If that is you: your name and time zone are stored, no email address is collected, and there is nothing to sign in to. Nothing is spoken and nothing about your day is recorded or shown to the caregiver until you open the link on your own device and agree to it. If you decline, the account and everything set up in it are deleted immediately.
- Reminders and care information. The reminders you create — their titles and notes, when they recur, and whether each one was marked done, snoozed, or missed, with the time it happened — plus any periods you mark as unavailable. Titles and notes are free text, so whatever you type is what we store. This is the heart of what Remindly does, and depending on what you write, some of it may be health-related. The section below asks you to keep that to a minimum, and explains why.
- Caregiver relationships. The links between a care receiver and their caregivers, invitations and pairing codes used to set them up, caregivers' stated availability, and any tasks or comments used to coordinate care.
- A connected calendar (only if you add one). A caregiver can connect an external scheduling account (Acuity Scheduling) so appointments appear as tasks. If you do, we store the access credentials needed to sync and the appointment details we bring in. You can disconnect it at any time.
- The mailing list (only if you ask for it). If you enter your email address to get the printable routine sheet and the monthly note, we store that address and which page you entered it on — nothing else, and no account is created for you. It is used only to send you that note, never for anything else and never shared with anyone but the email service below. To stop, reply to any note we send and we will remove you; we delete the address on request or when you ask to stop.
- Basic usage analytics. For signed-in activity we record ordinary technical details — IP address, browser and device type, the page referring you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed — to understand how the service is used and to diagnose problems. We do not collect any of this on the public marketing pages — the next point covers the little that is counted there. We do not look up your physical location, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
- A count of page views, on the public pages. So that we can tell whether anyone is reading these pages, we keep a daily tally of four things: how many times each page was served, the name of the website that linked here, any tag we put on a link we shared ourselves (so we can tell which post or newsletter a visit followed), and whether the request looked automated rather than human.
- That tally is a running total and nothing more: no row describes a person. We do not store an IP address, a browser identifier, a cookie, or anything else that could tell one visitor from another or link two visits together. We keep only the name of the site that linked here, never the full address of the page you came from — that address can contain what you typed into a search box. These totals are deleted after 90 days.
Health information, and writing less of it down
Remindly is a reminder service, not a medical record. We are not a doctor, clinic, pharmacy, or insurer, and we are not working on behalf of one. We ask you to keep clinical detail out of Remindly, and we have built it to work perfectly well without any.
A reminder title travels further than it looks. It is read aloud by the automated phone call, in whatever room the phone happens to be in, and every caregiver linked to that person can read it on their own dashboard. A general title — “Morning pills” rather than the name of the drug — does the same job and leaves less behind, both in our records and in the room.
We do not scan, filter, or block what you type. If you do enter a medication name, a diagnosis, or anything else you would rather keep private, we will store it and protect it exactly as we protect the rest of your information. We would simply rather not be holding it, and neither the reminder calls nor anything else in Remindly needs it.
How we use it
- To speak and display reminders to the person they are for, at the right time.
- To tell caregivers, in the app and by email, when a reminder is completed or missed — for the categories each caregiver has chosen.
- To sign you in, using the one-time link we email you.
- To help caregivers coordinate: tasks, availability, and coverage.
- To keep the service running, secure, and working correctly.
- To send the monthly note and the routine sheet, to the people who asked for them.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
We send email through Postmark, our email provider, for sign-in links, for the caregiver notifications described above, and for the monthly note if you asked for it. Your email address is shared with Postmark only to deliver those messages.
Who else can see it
Your care information is visible to you and to the caregivers linked to the care receiver it belongs to. Beyond that, we share information only with the service providers that run Remindly on our behalf:
- DigitalOcean — hosts the servers where your data is stored.
- Postmark — delivers our email.
- Acuity Scheduling — only if a caregiver connects it, to sync appointments.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person using Remindly.
Cookies
When you are signed in, we use a cookie to keep you signed in, and cookies to measure the usage described above. Visitors who are not signed in are not given an analytics cookie on our public pages. The count of page views described above needs no cookie and does not use one — it is a tally of requests, not of people.
How long we keep it
Usage analytics are automatically deleted after 90 days. Your account and care information are kept for as long as your account is active so the service can work. When you ask us to delete your data, we will.
Your choices
- You can change your notification preferences, name, and time zone from your profile at any time.
- A caregiver can disconnect a linked calendar at any time.
- If you are on the mailing list, reply to any note we send to come off it. There is no account to close and nothing else to do.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you — email hello@remindly.care and we will take care of it.
Security
Remindly has no passwords to steal — you sign in with a one-time link — and the site is served over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can reach it.
Where your data is processed
Remindly runs on servers provided by DigitalOcean. Depending on where you are, your information may be processed in a country other than your own.
Children
Remindly is made for adults — the people receiving care and those who care for them — and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its "last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated to the people affected.
